Howlin' Wolf & The Stones



In 1965 the Rolling Stones appeared on the music show Shindig! and insisted that Howlin' Wolf be allowed to perform too. That guy with the blond hair in a lot of the shots is Brian Jones, the one Stone who wouldn't make it and would be found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool in 1969. Four years earlier though, here he is at the feet of one of his idols, as The Wolf rips into a teen music show with a stupid exclamation mark at the end of its name. This is why the Stones were dangerous in 1965; they had all the right heroes and were willing to tell the whole world about them.
