Videos You Should See 6/11- Don't Stop Believin' in the Sopranos Finale
Don't Stop Believing in the last Sopranos
They always used music to great effect in the show, and they never used it better than in the last scene of the last episode. It's the last supper, "focus on the good times”, Don't Stop Believing. There was an awesome article that this guy named Bob Harris wrote about this episode, you can read it here.

Videos You Should See 6/10- Bono Sings With or Without You with Girl
Bono sings With or Without You with girl
First off it's U2's best song, second, and I'm not really sure why, this is really moving to me. Springsteen brought a girl on stage in his Dancing in the Dark video (Courtney Cox), but it wasn't like this. That looked stupid; this looks beautiful.

Videos You Should See 6/5- My Rifle, My Pony and Me
My Rifle My Pony and Me
From the movie Rio Bravo, it's one of my favorite songs ever. Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin sing it while John Wayne drinks coffee and Walter Brennan plays harmonica. The Sopranos used it to great effect at the end of one of their episodes as Tony sits by his horse as he dies.

Videos You Should See 6/4- Layla in Goodfellas
Layla in Goodfellas
Maybe the greatest movie ever by the greatest director ever. No one uses music in movies like Scorsese does. At around 2:40 seconds the song starts; it's the piano section from the second half of Eric Clapton's Layla. Clapton didn't write this part though, it was written seperately by Derek and the Dominos drummer Jim Gordon. In a side note, Gordon, who is a diagnosed schizophrenic, would later be sentenced to prison for murdering his mother with a hammer in 1983.

Videos You Should See 6/3- Stillwater Throws Away Penny Lane
Stillwater Throws Away Penny Lane
This is moments after Penny Lane gets "thrown away" by the band Stillwater in the movie Almost Famous. William goes to look for her, and the guy reading the newspaper in the taxi is Jann Wenner, the publisher of Rolling Stone magazine. Mona Lisas and Mad hatters should have been the famous Elton John song from the movie, not Tiny Dancer.

If you have reservations about his music here's at least the evidence why he was a star. This 1965 San Francisco Press Conference is one of the best things that he's ever done, all of his music included. In the audience is Allen Ginsburg and also famous rock promoter Bill Graham.

Videos You Should See 5/30- John and Yoko on David Frost Show in 1971
John and Yoko on David Frost parts 1 and 2
John and Yoko get into an argument with some audience members in 1971 on David Frost's tv show. This is the David Frost who would go on to interview Richard Nixon in 1977 and then have the movie Frost/Nixon made about it. Judging from this clip he was a great tv host, letting audience members get into heated arguments with the guests was a brilliant innovation.
